Born and raised in Wirral, Merseyside. As a teenager I first fell in love with photography when my parents bought me a 35mm Zenith SLR camera and I joined a club where I learned to develop black and white film. As time went on my hobby went by the wayside and I didn't really take it up again until many years later when I started travelling in South East Asia and again later when took up hiking and scrambling. With the incredible landscapes I was seeing, I was inspired to really start taking photos again but this was mostly done with smartphone technology over the last few years. Being an avid mountain hiker and outdoors person, I took a huge number of photos and avidly posted the better ones on social media such as Facebook. Receiving a lot of very positive feedback I was inspired to start learning about composition and post- production and studied a couple of online courses.
A couple of years ago I decided to print some Calendars of my favourite photos and gave them to friends and family as gifts for Christmas. The response was so overwhelmingly positive, that I decided to get more serious about photography and invested in a Mirrorless camera. My main love is for landscape but also have a keen interest in animal and wildlife as well as travel. I am inspired by such people as Ansel Adams and Galen Rowell but also very much by some of the modern professional photographers such as Dan Zafra, Thomas Heaton and Simon D'Entremont, who make a living through prints, websites and their YouTube channels.
